About the expert:
Nyambe ‘Yam’ Sumbwanyambe is the founder of The Black Sherpa and The 29k Club, and spent nearly two decades in the pharmaceutical industry before that. Yam helps people and organisations understand what he calls the hidden curriculum of work: the unwritten rules, relationships and access to context that shape how opportunity really moves inside an organisation.
Nearly two decades in pharma at Ashfield, MSD and Merck & Co., from medical representative to Associate Director, working on commercial excellence, strategy and capability building, so he has seen from the inside how investment in people is argued, sponsored and approved.
He designed and delivered Lead Your Career™, a 12-week career development programme at MSD UK that won the 2024 PF Award for Excellence in Education and after which 80% of participants had progressed within 12 months.
